Ramadan Ads in Qatar 2027: Dates, Week-by-Week Plan and Captions
Gulf Ad StudioUpdated
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on Monday 8 February 2027, with Eid al-Fitr expected on Tuesday 9 March, or Wednesday 10 March if Ramadan runs 30 days, but both are projections until Qatar's Ministry of Awqaf confirms them by moon sighting. Start planning now, and tease no later than early January: Snap's own figures say 40 per cent of Snapchat users in the region plan Ramadan three months or more ahead. Produce all your creative before the month begins; eight video-plus-graphic campaigns cost 208 QAR on Budget or 352 QAR on High-end with Gulf Ad Studio.
When is Ramadan 2027 in Qatar?
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on Monday 8 February 2027, and Eid al-Fitr is expected on Tuesday 9 March 2027, according to Wego's forecast. If Ramadan runs 30 days, Eid al-Fitr moves to Wednesday 10 March. These are astronomical projections: the final dates depend on the crescent sighting on the evening of Sunday 7 February.
In Qatar the start is announced by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs. In 2026 its crescent sighting committee announced the start after the Maghrib prayer on the evening before the first day.
| Moment | Expected date | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Moon sighting | Sunday 7 February 2027, evening | The Ministry of Awqaf announces the result after sunset. |
| First day of Ramadan | Monday 8 February 2027 | It could be a day later if the crescent is not sighted. |
| Garangao | About Sunday 21 February 2027 | Mid-Ramadan; Qatari sources give the 14th or 15th night. |
| Eid al-Fitr | Tuesday 9 March 2027, or Wednesday 10 March if Ramadan runs 30 days | The Amiri Diwan announces the public-sector holiday. |
Schedule around a range, not one day: prepare two launch greetings, one for 8 February and one for 9 February, and publish the one that matches the announcement. Do the same for Eid al-Fitr, with greetings ready for 9 and 10 March.
Why Ramadan planning starts now
Audiences start planning before the month begins. Snap research reported by Campaign Middle East in February 2026 says 40 per cent of Snapchat users in the region plan Ramadan three months or more ahead, and more than seven in ten Snapchatters across the GCC use the platform to plan celebrations, purchases, outfits and gifts.
Those are Snap's own figures, not specific to Qatar, so read them as a direction. For an 8 February start, three months ahead is early November, which is why we suggest planning now and teasing no later than early January. The plan below produces all the creative before the teaser goes out.
When to post during Ramadan
Many brands post around iftar and late in the evening, when people are home. That is common practice, not a rule, and it differs by audience, so check your own insights in the first week and move your slots to match. Wego notes that working hours are shortened in Ramadan, so daytime routines shift.
Ramadan content do's and don'ts
There is no single rulebook for Ramadan creative, but some sensitivities are widely shared. Treat these lists as common practice, and have someone from your audience review the finished ads.
Do
- Lead with warmth: greetings, family, community and giving suit the month better than urgency.
- Tie offers to real needs: iftar gatherings, gifts, home preparation and Eid shopping.
- Use Ramadan Kareem, Ramadan Mubarak and other religious phrases accurately, and have a fluent Arabic reader check them.
- State your Ramadan opening hours in every offer post.
Avoid
- Close-ups of food and drink in posts likely to be seen during fasting hours. Many brands treat this as a sensitivity and post such content after iftar; we found no official rule.
- Music-heavy or party-style creative. Many brands choose calmer sound during the month.
- Using religious text or imagery as a sales hook, for example on a discount banner.
- Unlicensed offers. A Ramadan sale is still a sale, and MoCI fined a delivery company QAR 10,000 in April 2026 for announcing promotions without prior approval. See our White Friday guide.
Watch each video with the sound on before you post it, and rewrite the brief if the tone is off.
A week-by-week plan to Eid
Plan and produce first, tease by early January, and publish through February and March. Dates shift by a day if the sighting differs from the projection.
| Week | Focus | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Now to 3 January | Plan and produce | Choose offers, check which licences apply, list Ramadan products and hours; then generate the whole creative library in one sitting and have the Arabic reviewed. |
| 4 to 24 January | Tease | Post the teaser and invite customers to join an iftar or gift list; keep the invitation visible until Ramadan. |
| 25 to 31 January | Prepare | Pre-Ramadan needs: home, groceries, gifts and new hours. |
| 1 to 7 February | Count down | Post the countdown graphic; keep both launch greetings ready. |
| 8 to 14 February | Ramadan week 1 | Launch greeting, iftar-time offers and new hours. |
| 15 to 21 February | Ramadan week 2 | Mid-month content; Garangao posts ahead of about 21 February. |
| 22 to 28 February | Ramadan week 3 | Giving and community content; evening and weekend offers. |
| 1 to 8 March | Final days | Gifting, Eid shopping, last orders and holiday hours; Eid greeting ready for either date. |
| 9 or 10 to 15 March | Eid al-Fitr | Eid greeting on the confirmed day, then Eid offers and a customer thank-you. |
Garangao: a mid-Ramadan moment for brands
Garangao is Qatar's mid-Ramadan celebration, when children in traditional clothes go from house to house singing and collecting sweets and nuts (Qatar Tribune). Qatari sources place it on the 14th or 15th night of Ramadan, so around 21 February 2027 if the month begins on 8 February.
Good fits are sweets, gift boxes, family offers and simple heritage visuals. Keep the focus on the tradition, and show only people you have permission to show.
The Eid al-Fitr follow-up campaign
Plan Eid as a second campaign with its own creative: a greeting, an offer for gifts, outfits or outings, and a thank-you to customers who bought in Ramadan. The Amiri Diwan announces the public-sector holiday; in 2026 it did so on 15 March for 17 to 23 March (QNA).
Example captions in English and Gulf Arabic
Use these example captions as starting points, not finished copy; replace XX with your real details. The Arabic uses Gulf (Khaleeji) wording for informal social captions. See the Gulf Arabic ad copy guide for more.

Prepare all Ramadan creative before the month
Eight campaigns cover the plan: teaser, launch greeting, iftar offer, giving, Garangao, final-days gifting, Eid greeting and thank-you. Give Gulf Ad Studio your website address or product photos and a one-line goal. Generation is typically a few minutes (in our October 2026 tests about 2.5 minutes for a Budget campaign and about 5 to 7 minutes for High-end; extra formats take longer). Each campaign includes strategy, English and Arabic copy, a narrated vertical video and an optional 1080 x 1080 graphic.
| What you make | Budget | High-end |
|---|---|---|
| One campaign: vertical video + square graphic | 26 QAR | 44 QAR |
| 8 campaigns, video + graphic each | 208 QAR | 352 QAR |
| Strategy and copy only, 8 campaigns | 40 QAR | 72 QAR |
You see an itemised quote before anything is generated, you are charged only when every requested output passes the automatic checks, and downloads are free. Free trial: 2 campaigns, each with a strategy, English + Arabic post text and one vertical HD video with voiceover. No card needed. The trial covers up to 2 companies. Square and Wide videos, the square image and extra AI scenes are not part of the trial. See pricing for the full rate card and examples for a real sample campaign.
Know the limits. The voiceover is an AI voice checked for completeness, not a native Qatari human voice, and nothing is posted for you. If your campaign needs filmed families, a location shoot or a brand film, hire a crew; our video ad cost guide shows the price range. No tool can promise sales or leads.

Frequently asked questions
When does Ramadan 2027 start in Qatar?
It is expected to start on Monday 8 February 2027 and Eid al-Fitr on Tuesday 9 March (Wego's forecast), or Wednesday 10 March if Ramadan runs 30 days. These are projections: Qatar's Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs confirms the start after the crescent sighting on the evening of 7 February.
When should Qatar businesses start Ramadan advertising?
Start planning now and tease no later than early January, with the creative produced before the teaser goes out. Snap's own figures say 40 per cent of Snapchat users in the region plan Ramadan three months or more ahead, though not specifically in Qatar.
Are there rules about food or music in Ramadan ads in Qatar?
We found no official Qatar guidance on this. Many brands treat close-ups of food during fasting hours and music-heavy creative as sensitivities, so they post food content after iftar and use calmer sound. Ask a local reviewer, and check licensing rules for any offer.
How much does a Ramadan ad pack cost with Gulf Ad Studio?
Eight campaigns with one vertical video and one square graphic each cost 208 QAR on Budget or 352 QAR on High-end. You see the exact quote before anything is generated and are charged only when every output passes the checks.
